Glucose is not updating or looks stale

If your glucose timeline on Insights stops moving or is marked stale, it is almost always a sync issue rather than a fault with Bolus.

First, the normal explanations

  • Dexcom runs about three hours behind through Apple Health. A gap at the most recent end of the chart is expected, not a problem.
  • Bolus marks data stale when it has not seen a new reading for a while, sooner for Dexcom than for Libre. A fresh reading clears it on its own, so it often fixes itself once your phone and monitor catch up.

If it asks you to reconnect

A reconnect banner means the connection dropped, usually because the login needs refreshing:

  • FreeStyle Libre: re-enter your LibreLinkUp login in Settings. If it keeps failing, open a Libre app once to check the account and accept any new terms.
  • Dexcom: check the Dexcom app is still writing to Apple Health, and that Bolus still has permission to read Blood Glucose in the Health app.

Still not syncing

If it will not reconnect, or drops out again straight away, email support@bolus.health and tell us which monitor you use.
