Exercise data is not showing

The Exercise tab draws entirely on Apple Health. If something is missing there, it is almost always missing in Health too, or a permission is off.

The tab says it is not set up

Apple Health has not been connected yet. Go to Settings, then Exercise, and connect. See connect Apple Health.

The week is empty

  • Check the week you are looking at. The arrows at the top move between weeks, and it is easy to be on a week you were away for.
  • Check the workout is in Health. Open the Health app and look under Browse. If it is not there, Bolus cannot see it either: that is a question for whatever app or watch should have recorded it.
  • Check Bolus still has permission. In the Health app: Browse, then Data Access & Devices, then Bolus. Workouts, steps, active energy, heart data and weight each have their own switch, and iOS can leave one off.

A walk is there but the minutes did not move

The week counts recorded workouts, not steps, and only moderate and vigorous ones. A gentle walk shows in the Low band and is not credited. See how your week is counted.

VO₂ max says there is no reading

It needs an outdoor walk or run recorded with your Apple Watch before iOS will estimate it. It is not something Bolus can fill in.

Older data is missing

When you grant access, iOS may only share data from that point forward, or limit how far back it shares. Bolus asks for your history and backfills what it is given, but it cannot reach data Health did not hand over. If a stretch of history matters, check the permission in the Health app and give Bolus another launch.
