How your data is handled
Your health and glucose data
Health details and glucose readings are the most sensitive data Bolus touches, so they get particular care.
Handled on your consent
Health information, like your diabetes type and any glucose readings, is treated as special-category data. Bolus only processes it because you agreed to it during setup, alongside the medical disclaimer. You can withdraw that by deleting your account. See delete your account.
Glucose is read-only
- FreeStyle Libre readings are read from LibreLinkUp, read-only. Bolus cannot change anything in your Libre account.
- Dexcom readings are read from Apple Health, read-only. Bolus never writes anything back to Health, and it does not see your name or Dexcom login.
Your CGM login stays on your phone
For FreeStyle Libre, your LibreLinkUp login is kept in your iPhone’s secure keychain. It is only used on your device to fetch your readings, and it is never sent to or stored on Bolus servers. For Dexcom there is no login to store, because it goes through Apple Health.
Kept separate from the assistant
If the in-app assistant is available to you, it never receives your raw glucose numbers. It only ever sees a short reflection of how a meal tended to go, never the readings themselves.
