Permissions Bolus asks for
Bolus asks for very little on your device. There are only two permissions, and both are optional.
Notifications
Bolus asks to send notifications just after you sign in. These are how it tells you when your new week is ready and when it is time for your weekly review. You can turn them on or off any time in your iPhone Settings, under Bolus.
Apple Health
If you connect Dexcom, Bolus asks to read Blood Glucose from Apple Health. That is the only Health data it reads, and it never writes anything back. You control this in the Health app, under Browse, then Data Access & Devices, then Bolus.
If you use FreeStyle Libre instead, that connects through your LibreLinkUp login rather than Apple Health, so this permission is not needed.
What Bolus never asks for
Bolus does not ask for your location, camera, microphone, contacts, or photos. If you ever see a request for any of those claiming to be from Bolus, do not grant it, and let us know at support@bolus.health.
To change what data Bolus holds, see manage or delete your data.
