What is free and what is Premium

Bolus has a free programme and an optional subscription called Bolus Premium. The free side is the whole business of planning and shopping; Premium is the coaching and the deeper read of your own data.

What is free

  • Your weekly plan, built for you, with breakfast, lunch and dinner every day.
  • Your shopping list, grouped by aisle and sized into packs.
  • Swaps, skips and eating out, and the reshuffling that follows them.
  • The cook flow, ingredients and method.
  • The weekly review, and next week being built from it.
  • Your glucose, if you connect a CGM: your daily trace, your average and your time in range.
  • Your exercise, if you connect Apple Health: your week’s minutes, steps, energy and heart figures.
  • Your weight chart and your readings.

Nothing in that list has ever been taken away to sell back.

What Premium adds

The Bolus Premium screen, listing what the subscription adds
Bolus Premium: Emily, weight goals, per-meal glucose, and your activity in context.
  • Emily, your AI coach, whenever you need her, including the conversation in the weekly review. See what Emily is.
  • Your weight goal, with coaching that follows up. Set a target, see your path to it, and have Emily turn it into next steps. See set a target weight.
  • How meals connect with glucose, dish by dish, rather than only your day as a whole. See meal glucose response.
  • Your activity in context, brought together with the rest of your diabetes health.
  • A summary for your care team, put together for an appointment. See a summary for your care team.

What it costs

Bolus Premium is £14.99 a month, or £99.99 a year — about £8.33 a month. The yearly plan starts with one week free, and the first charge lands when that week ends unless you cancel. Both renew until you cancel, and Apple handles the billing. See how payment works.

Where to see it

Settings → Bolus Premium shows which tier you are on, and opens the same screen. The footnote there says it plainly: your weekly plans, shopping and swaps stay free.

The Bolus Premium row in Settings on the free tier
Settings says which tier you are on, and what Premium adds.

If Premium lapses

Your plans, shopping and swaps carry on. Emily’s tab goes back to the introduction, your conversation is kept rather than deleted, and the per-dish glucose reading is hidden again. Nothing you recorded is lost, and picking Premium back up picks the conversation back up too.
