Shopping your way
Change pack sizes and quantities
Bolus works out how much of an ingredient your week needs, then suggests a pack that covers it. Real shops do not always stock that pack.
The two controls
Every item row has:
- PACK, a picker of the available pack sizes for that ingredient, for example “545g pack”.
- QTY, a stepper for how many of that pack you are buying.
Change either and the row updates. The line underneath tells you what the amount covers, for example “covers 545g this week”, so you can see whether you have enough.
When the shop has a different size
Pick the nearest pack from the picker and adjust the quantity. If nothing in the picker matches what is on the shelf, buy the closest and tick it off; the list is a guide to quantity, not a rule.
Buying more than you need
Perfectly fine, and often cheaper. Bolus does not track what is left in your cupboard between weeks, so anything spare is yours to use.
Why the numbers can look odd
Quantities are scaled to your household and portion size, so a household of four sees roughly twice a household of two. If a quantity looks wildly wrong for the meal, that is worth reporting. See report an issue.
