How your meals are structured

Bolus plans three meals a day: breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The way it repeats some and varies others is deliberate, so the week stays easy to shop and cook without feeling samey where it matters.

What repeats and what changes

  • Breakfast is one meal across the whole week. Most people want the same easy start each day, and it keeps the shopping simple.
  • Weekday lunch is one meal, Monday to Friday. Handy if you batch it or take the same thing to work.
  • Weekend lunches and every dinner are chosen individually, so the part of the day where variety matters most stays interesting.

If Bolus found a breakfast or weekday lunch that worked last week, it tends to keep it, unless you disliked it or skipped it more than a couple of times.

Snacks

Bolus does not add snacks to your week automatically. If you want to track a snack, you can add it yourself, but the plan is built around the three main meals.

Portions and household

Every meal is scaled to your portion setting and how many people you are feeding, both of which you set during setup and can change in Settings. Changes apply to new weeks, not the one you are in the middle of. See change portion and household size.
