The weekly review
How Bolus learns from your week
Each week is shaped by the one before it. Here is what actually feeds in.
What counts
- Ratings. A thumbs down removes a meal; a thumbs up brings it back more often. The strongest signal you can give.
- What you cooked. Meals that get eaten count for more than meals that do not.
- Swaps. What you swapped away from, and what you chose instead.
- Foods you excluded. Anything you add to your avoid list, in Settings or by telling Ask.
- Your review answers. What you said about the week when Ask asked.
What is deliberately not held against you
- Eating out. A restaurant meal is not a failure and does not affect your food quality figures.
- A one-off skip. Bolus separates “I did not have time” from “I did not like it”, which is why the thumbs matter.
- Your glucose. Bolus does not quietly change your food because of a reading. Glucose is context you can look at, not a lever the planner pulls on its own.
What it will not do
Bolus will not decide you should lose weight faster, cut your carbohydrate, or hit a calorie target, and it does not set you numeric goals off the back of a week. It plans food that fits UK dietary guidance and your life.
How quickly it changes
Ratings apply immediately: thumb something down and it is out from the next plan. Broader patterns take a few weeks to settle, because one week is not much evidence.
If your weeks are consistently wrong for you, the faster fix is your settings rather than waiting for it to learn. See how your plans are shaped.
