What Premium is
How payment works
Bolus is free to download and free to use. Bolus Premium is an optional subscription, and everything to do with paying for it is handled by Apple through your Apple Account, the same as any other App Store subscription.
What it costs
| Plan | Price | Works out at | Free trial |
|---|---|---|---|
| Yearly | £99.99 a year | about £8.33 a month | one week |
| Monthly | £14.99 a month | — | none |
The yearly plan is the cheaper of the two, and the app marks it as best value and says what it comes to per month.
The free week
The yearly plan starts with one week free. You get everything Premium adds for that week, and the first £99.99 is charged when it ends, unless you cancel first. The button on the subscription screen says so, and the small print underneath spells out the length, the price after it, and that it renews unless cancelled.
Cancel any time in that week and you are not charged at all. See cancel your subscription.
The trial is Apple’s introductory offer, so it is once per Apple Account: if you have had it before, Apple will not offer it again, and the screen shows the price without it. The monthly plan has no trial.
The short version
- The price is confirmed before you pay, on the subscription screen in the app and on the Bolus page in the App Store. That screen is the authority: if a price ever changes, it changes there first.
- The yearly plan starts with a free week. The first charge lands when it ends, unless you cancel first.
- It renews until you cancel. Monthly or yearly, the next period is charged automatically unless you cancel first.
- Apple handles the money. Bolus never sees or stores your card. Payment, receipts and renewals all sit with Apple.
- You can cancel any time, in your Apple settings, and you keep Premium until the end of the period you have paid for. See cancel your subscription.
Why it goes through Apple
Bolus is an iPhone app, so Apple requires that any subscription is bought through the App Store. That means Bolus does not take card details or store any payment information itself. It also means you manage everything in one place: the price you see, renewals, cancelling, and refunds.
Where to manage it
Your subscription lives in your Apple Account, not inside Bolus. On your iPhone, open Settings, tap your name at the top, then Subscriptions, and choose Bolus. From there you can see the price, switch between monthly and yearly, cancel it, and check when it next renews.
Inside Bolus, Settings → Bolus Premium shows your current status and its renewal date, and has Restore purchase if a subscription you have paid for is not showing. See restore your subscription.
If the price changes
If the subscription price ever changes, Apple notifies you in advance and, where required, asks you to agree before the new price applies. You can cancel instead if you do not want to continue.
If a charge looks wrong
See refunds and billing issues, or email support@bolus.health and we will help.
