Using Ask

What Ask can do for you

Ask is not only a place to get answers. When a reply comes with a pill underneath it, tapping it makes the change.

The changes it can make

  • Swap meals, including several at once across the week.
  • Reshuffle a day when things have gone off track.
  • Mark a meal as cooked.
  • Record what you thought of a meal, the same as a thumbs up or thumbs down.
  • Set whether you are happy to repeat a meal.
  • Exclude a food you would rather not see again.
  • Add something to your shopping list.
  • Change your usual meal times.
  • Record your weight.
  • Create next week’s plan.
  • Put together a summary for your care team. See a summary for your care team.

How the pills work

A pill is an offer attached to the reply above it. Tap one and Ask carries it out, then flips the pill to Done. Once you have tapped one in a row, the others in that row stop being offers, because the conversation has moved on.

Some pills are not actions at all: they are just a quicker way of typing the next thing, or a shortcut to another tab.

Agreements

Ask can also record an agreement: something you have decided to try, in your own words, that it will hold on to and check in about later. Agreements are for the behaviour side of eating well rather than the mechanics of the plan, and you can settle one at any point by saying so.

You are still in charge

Nothing is changed without you tapping it. Ask proposes; you decide. Anything it does can be undone the same way you would undo it yourself. See undo a change.
